MUMBAI: City I-League club
Air India's hunt for a permanent coach is all set to end with Naushad Moosa tipped for the job. Moosa, coach with Mumbai FC's under-19 team for the last four seasons, is expected to take over from interim coach Anthony Fernandes once formalities are completed.
Twelfth on the standings, Air India has been without a coach since November when Godfrey Pereira stepped down from the post over salary issues.
An assistant coach with the club, Fernandes was handed the reins on an interim basis during which Air India had a mixed bag of results.
Equipped with an 'A' license, Moosa's stint with the Mumbai FC colts has been successful to say the least. With him in the dug-out, the Mumbai FC juniors won the MDFA Super Division and were impressive in their I-League Under-20 run where they finished runners-up last year.
